EXPLORING THE ELEMENTS WITHIN SANDPLAY THERAPY, In-Person Training, Module 4
August 23 & 24, 2026
Time: 9:00am – 5:00pm each day
The imagery and symbols that unfold and evolve during a process are collective to the psyche. The presentation will examine some of these collective images and symbols in order that the therapist is able to get a better grasp of the client’s process and help the therapist feel more grounded in understanding where their clients are emotionally. The presentation will explore and show how the process of alchemy evolves within each individual as they journey into the psyche. The therapeutic process itself is viewed as a descent into the underworld – the darkness of the unconscious – and then an ascent back into consciousness. The journey is long and arduous. The journey is often painful, full of mystery and finally, revelation. As an experiential exercise the group will be asked to explore the sand itself and the elements within the sand. We will also explore processes of clients and examine how the elements appear throughout the process.
